June 21, 6-9 pm at the North Park Village Nature Center in Chicago
On June 21, a huge crowd turned out to support Literacy Works and honor adult learners, tutors, and our very special guest, Myra Johnson, formerly of the Illinois Secretary of State Library/Literacy Office.
Guests enjoyed live music by the Northside Southpaws, delicious refreshments, nature walks, henna tattoos, caricature art, a drawing, a silent auction, and much more. Thanks to all our sponsors, special donors, and guests!
Thanks to everyone who volunteered - in rain and shine - on Literacy Works' behalf at Pitchfork Music Festival on July 18-20 at Chicago's Union Park.
And on June 8, Theater Oobleck presented a benefit performance for Literacy Works of the acclaimed original play The Strangerer, just before the play moves on to New York!
